Steaks and Horrors in Lawrence Township

Going to the movies for the summer would definitely be the norm when asking what to do for the day. As for my family, going to the movies is a way to get out of the house at the end of a hectic week and luckily for us New Jersey has prime locations for such occasions. Speaking of prime, as tradition we always have dinner before or after the movie we will be seeing so when my father said we would be eating at a restaurant before seeing the movie, I expected as much.

The restaurant my family and I had eaten at was a restaurant steakhouse named KC Prime located in Lawrence Township New Jersey. KC Prime offers steaks and a variety of seafood and is reviewed quite highly as one of the best steakhouses. As someone who is a connoisseur of steakhouses, when my father asked if their was interest in going here, my mind instantly jumped at the chance. The ability to have a freshly cut prime rib before a movie seemed like a great opportunity and what to come exceeded my expectations.

After being greeted with impeccable service and consuming a large quantity of wasabi mash potatoes, the time for the movie had begun. We would be seeing the movie at an AMC again located in Lawrence Township and it would be a late night showing. Being only a block away from KC Prime, my family and I were easily able to walk to the theater. This makes KC Prime a beneficial location to eat if you consider going to the movies.

The movie that we would be seeing was Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and posters of the movie were available outside the theater. Remembering the books from my childhood, the interest to see this movie was high and luckily my father was able to secure tickets for the opening weekend. Seeing the posters, however, the realization that it may have been a bad idea to have eaten before the movie filled my head. The legendary makeup and costume designer Guillermo Del Toro was heavily involved in the film so knowing this I prepared for the next hour and forty seven minutes to come.

As the movie came to a close and the night seemed a bit darker than when I entered the theater, the quiet drive home signaled it was time to go to sleep. Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark took me back to my childhood and with good food in tow, the end of the hectic week ended with full bellies and nostalgia to boot.
