A Final Event For a Final Goodbye
Being a Communications major with a minor in Marketing, trying to get experience out in the field is essential for a future of success. Having worked as a marketing promotions/tech intern last summer at NJTV in Newark New Jersey, this summer I wanted to widen my horizons on such fields. The internship/summer job that I did this summer was at iPlay America as part of their marketing associates promotions team. Thanks to iPlay America, I was taught skills that will never be forgotten and will help me in my future endeavors.

The last event to work for the summer was an autograph and photo signing with the famous New York Yankees player Lou Piniella. Although the promotions team was not allowed to meet Lou Piniella, it was our job to assign customers the right tickets that suited their needs and make sure that got what they were promised. Some similar events at iPlay America I worked were meet and greets with the WWE tag team wrestlers the IIconics and the UFC fighter Jon "Bones" Jones. These events require an exuberant amount of patience with customers and to solve sudden problems that may occur.
iPlay America is an indoor amusement style park located in the center of Freehold Township in Freehold New Jersey off of Schanck Road. For years, iPlay has hosted numerous birthday party events and laser tag parties for guests of all ages. Not only this, but iPlay has its own bar and grill restaurant named the Gametime Bar and Grill serving burgers and liquor. Guests are also able to play pool alongside watching sports on TV. Gametime Bar and Grill also hosts UFC events, which I have worked, which showcase the pay per view fights on their projector light screens.
Deep into iPlay America, carnival style rides are available for children to ride. These rides include a carousel, go karts, and even a roller coaster like experience. There is also a 4-D ride which has genres ranging from adventure to horror themed. Although I am part of the promotions team, jobs in these other factions of the park are available and are identified by different colored t-shirts.
Leaving iPlay America, I am reminded of all the great experiences I have gained from working there. Whether it be working with fellow co-workers, or interacting with the citizens of Freehold the time spent there will not be forgotten. For anyone looking for a summer job/internship the recommendation for Communication majors to work there is strong. Not only this, but the numerous events iPlay America hosts makes iPlay a crucial part to the entertainment that Freehold New Jersey has to offer. As I say my final goodbye, although this was my final event at iPlay America for others it truly will not be the last.
